ECCDC is currently operating a Micro-Enterprise program, supported by Georgia Micro Enterprise Network. We target TANF or potential TANF clients and other low-very-low wealth individuals to provide training and technical assistance relating to how to become a successful small business owner.
Micro-enterprise Development Course: This 40 hours course teaches you the ins and outs of starting, or enhancing, your own small business. You will learn how to determine start-up costs, how to acquire information on and assess your competition, how to write a business plan in order to get a loan, how to concentrate your resources and efforts in the right direction, how to market yourself, and
how to make a business presentation. You will be encouraged and challenged by the instructors and your classmates.
Career Building: Learn about the few simple steps you can take in order make sure you become the kind of employee companies look for and promote.
Financial Fitness: We teach key strategies and techniques that can greatly improve your ability to manage finances, become a successful homeowner, or receive a loan for your business. You will be able to take charge of your finances by learning how to plan and budget; the basics of saving, investing, and planning for retirement; how to analyze your credit report and, if needed, how to improve your credit scores.
